Get up…Wake up!!

Moving and walking about as if the life is guaranteed.

Have you ever thought while you are busy showing off and party it up, somebody in the world is fighting with cancer or in death bed? This blog post is completely based on what thoughts I am going through and I hope it is just not temporary. Because once reality slaps you in the face, it will be too late. We often may disregard the important fact which can any day haunt us down --- Death. Anywhere and everywhere we go this truth will accompany us. The most dreadful and frightening matter here is we have no security over our own life yet we walk around the earth as if it’s NOT our last. I have heard of few deaths of people I know of and whenever I hear about death it knocks me hard. But why when I hear of death why do I not think of it in general? Every step I walk every breath I take, every moment I live I am facing death but the difference is it slightly passes me by without touching me. The day death in the point of fact takes place; I will be on my own. No mom and dad to help me get out of it. What am I left with after that? The deeds and actions of all the times I lived and could have made a difference.

Instead of a big palace or house, you will be tugged under a dark hole with only pain and agony. Those friends who may have misled us or been good to us in the world will be gone leaving you with nothing but loneliness. The parents who have always loved and cared for us will not be there to save us that time. Those husbands or wives who always protected and were a shelter to each other will be nothing but powerless to save us from the dark hole. Those boyfriends or girlfriends we have had in the Dunyaa will not be of any use. Their dua’a for the dead will not be of any effect because the root of the relationship wasn’t in the basis of the Islamic law. And this is the harsh truth of death which no one can escape yet we walk around the earth as if we have time.

All the worldly properties we own, the diamonds, the gold, the designer wear and shoes will be useless for the hereafter. You will be simply wrapped in a white piece of cloth with nothing to take from the dunyaa. The big roof we live under and the big expensive cars we drive will prove to be nothing compare to the realization we will sense when we are lying in our grave. While we are alive we are constantly thinking of competing with others whether it is about business, properties we own or petty things like who is living a more luxurious life than us. It is a foolish choice to compete and not be satisfied with what Allah has provided you with. It is foolish to devote yourself completely in the materialistic world without thinking of the future. The future will offer nothing but a piece of white cloth and a dark hole to live under.

While we show off and compete with others, think of donation and charity. While we become shopaholics, we may want to think of donating stuff from our wardrobe. Every moment we live, we should make it useful and do one valuable deed than the other to cut down the level of sins we commit. Every moment we think of life we should think of death because this thought will take us back to our Islamic root. We will think of committing less sin thinking we do not have an adequate amount of time to earn excellent deeds. The more you earn the less it should feel. The more sins we commit, the more realization and good deeds should cover up for it. The less we think of what others have the more we will be appreciative with what we have. The less jealous we feel the more confident and better we will feel of ourselves. We should think of impressing Allah and not the people of the dunyaa. We should show off to Allah with our good behavior rather than showing off to people. As I mentioned above they will not tag along with us as our shelter in the grave. The problem with today’s world and its people is that we do not think of death or take it as seriously as it should be taken. Because your life is not guaranteed to you, your body and anatomical parts will be judging against you on the Day of Judgment. You are nothing but a creation of Allah given the chance of free will to build your future for the hereafter. However, we are too busy building our temporary house and life which we are meant to leave sooner or later. It is rightly said in the Quran, “The dunyaa is a paradise to shaitaan and a prison to believer”. Don’t let shaitaan trick you to become worldly instead remember your Islamic valued and root. Where you have come from is your return back. Every moment think of death for it may make a difference in your actions.

This post is a reminder to self in the most importance sense! Good luck people!
